¿Me podrían decir si está bien lo siguiente, por favor?

1. (en una tienda, al ver la etiqueta del precio)
-¿Cuánto costaba (todavía no se la ha comprado) la camiseta?=How much did the T-shirt cost?
-X pesetas

2. -¿Por qué no te lo compraste?
-(Porque) era bastante caro/costaba bastante

3. Dice: aunque costaba (regresas a ese momento al ver la etiqueta)/costó (te enfocas en haberlo comprado) un poco más de lo que quería pagar, pensé que lo podría usar durante años

Costó = You or somebody else already bought it.

Costaba = you or somebody else bought it or didn't, it isn't known unless you specify it.

This is what si happening and i would like to see contexts, which are not clearly defined... (to me, at least) :)

1. (en una tienda, al ver la etiqueta del precio) Is this happening while seeing the price tag?

-¿Cuánto costaba (todavía no se la ha comprado) la camiseta?=How much did the T-shirt cost?
-X pesetas

Maybe it changed priced, so how much did it cost?/what was the price? It wouldn't matter if the person bought or not the item. (See what I mean?)

2. -¿Por qué no te lo compraste?
-(Porque) era bastante caro/costaba bastante)=It was pretty expensive/It cost quite a bit

3. Dice: aunque costaba (regresas a ese momento al ver la etiqueta)/costó (te enfocas en haberlo comprado) un poco más de lo que quería pagar, pensé que lo podría usar durante por años=He says: although it cost a little bit more than what I wanted to pay, I thought I could use it for years

¿Por qué has tachado durante? Yo digo durante años, no digo por años. Es más "por años" me parece un anglicismo de "for years". :thinking:

En Chile lo usamos así.

Podemos decir:

Esta manta la he usado por años.

Durante años esta manta fue usada por mí.
