Del montón

"Ser del montón" significa que no se es fisicamente muy guapo, ni tampoco feo, es decir, como la mayoría.
En English?

It's like to be Carita right?

Average in appearance, nondescript, ordinary, like one who wouldn't
"stand out in a crowd".

chileno May 11, 2010 07:39 AM

One from the lot

Perikles May 11, 2010 07:43 AM

To be just an ordinary guy/bloke/girl/woman

ROBINDESBOIS May 11, 2010 07:55 AM

And fair ????

poli May 11, 2010 08:00 AM

Fair means pale skinned, and in the past(prior to the 20th century meant
very pretty)

In English a woman with no special looks (neither good nor bad) is a plain Jane. I don't know if there is a male equivalent.

"Ser del montón" is not only about physical appearance, but to all fields where one could stand out for a positive or a negative reason, but one just belongs to the average.

· Como estudiante no es ni bueno ni malo, es del montón.
As a student, he's not good, nor bad; he's an average student.

· Ninguno de esos equipos sobresale. Todos son del montón.
None of those teams stands out. All of them are average teams.
