How would you translate "led down" in this sentence?

The castle was like a fairy castle, high up, overlooking the sea, and terrace upon terrace of green marble led down to the silver-sanded shore.

Lead means 'guide', 'be the first', etc., but I can't find 'lead down'. I guess I could say 'apoyado' (or maybe 'orientado hacia'?). :thinking:

Creo que "high up" se refiere a la altura a la que está construido el castillo y el camino "baja" hacia la playa... :?: :thinking:

Sí, "high up" era otra duda que tenía. Lo he traducido como "en lo alto". :thinking: :)

:good: Aunque no está claro que sea un camino exactamente. Tiene el aspecto de una escalera de mármol verde, pero quizas no sea posible escalarla. La palabra "terrace" con este sentido suele usarse para lo que hacen los granjeros para cultivar colinas.

Ah, claro... se llaman "terrazas" igual... son una especie de llanos que forman una especie de escalones en las laderas de algunas montañas.

Sí, se puede subir (y bajar) por las escaleras:

those two beautiful creatures coming hand in hand up the steps of the great marble terraces

Y me parecen terrazas por lo siguiente:

The King and Queen loved them with a passionate love, and would sit upon the terrace above, leaning over to watch all their movements

This last statement makes it clear that there seems to be steps leading to each terrace. Rather that all of the terraces are connected by these steps.
