pa' que veas
I keep hearing this phrase pa' que veas and I know what it means literally, "So you can see", but I can't seem to figure out what they're actually saying when they say it. Does anyone here know?

Hola Randall:
pa' que veas - means ....... I told you so. I was right! In some cases...... That's how it's done! Depending on the conversation. For example: Randall: How do you work this machine? Elaina: Just push the lever here. Randall: It can't be! I did it two times already. Elaina: That's how it's done. Try it again. Randall: Ok (the machine starts) Elaina: Pa' que veas! (I know what I'm talking about). Or..... Randall: Elaina, did you see that little kid do those dance moves? Elaina: No. Where is he? Randall: Over there, look? Elaina looks in amazement: Wow!! Randall: Pa'que veas!! (here, it means...see, he really knows his stuff!!) I hope this helps you a little in understanding this phrase. Pa'que veas!!!! Yo sí supe!! :pElaina |
There is another phrase that i hear that sounds similar, and I always wondered what it means... Pa'que sepa or Pa'que sepan. What does this phrase mean?

P'a que veas: "I was sure it would work/happen// I was right" (see Elaina's excelent explanation)... "para que tu veas (que yo se de lo que hablo)
P'a que sepan: "everybody must know i'm capable of.../ I have..." (para que ellos sepan lo que yo valgo/lo que yo yengo/ lo que yo conozco) saludos :D |
ohhh es "pa' que" bajo para "para que?" Si tengas "slangs" o abreviaciones comunes y el tiempo libre, los escribirías en la seccion "internet talk" en charla general? Estaría muy apreciado!!
