Pasata
I know it is some Mexican spicy condiment... (or something like that) but I cannot find a definition or a recipe for it.
(I found the Italian "Passata" but that is another thing, right?) Anyone with Mexican culinary knowledge to the rescue! (Maybe Angélica?) |
Sorry, never heard of it.
I know an Italian "passata di pomodoro", which is a smooth tomato sauce. ¿No será una pasta de chile de algún tipo? :thinking: |
No. En Chile no tenemos nada de eso... :rolleyes:
|
Okay, thank you anyhow... I now tend to believe it must be some kind of "typo" and it is actually what you say (Angélica) "Passata di pomodoro" which is made with some onion, basil... pepper?
At any rate, thank you for the answers. |

@Hernán: :p
@Pablo: I have seen it prepared with many ingredients (basic ones being tomato, a little onion, basil, a touch of garlic...), but what gives it the name (as I've been told), is that the sauce is passed through a sieve, to make it smooth. http://ak.buy.com/PI/0/250/208099901.jpg |
Yeah, excellent picture!
I knew the derivation, but it is alway nice to have the "mass" on how these things work... Thanks a lot! |
