Spanish comments on facebook
hey I speak a fair amount of spanish, but some of my friends from mexico are commenting on photos using some vocab that you just can not find in the online dictionaries... anyone able to help me out here:
|
More context is needed to be absolutely sure, but I'll roughly translate a few phrases that might have you guessing.
mujercita (little lady (term of endearment)) cachorrolandia (pet shop) cagarse de la risa (split a gut laughing (polite translation)) |
Rusty is OK

"Vive en cachorrolandia" can be a pejorative way of talking about someone who lives in a childish world.
"Mujercita" is not necessarily a term of endearment, it can also be a pejorative way to talk about a woman. Context will clarify the meanings. |
haha ok thanks. yeah part of the problem was that there was not much context, but that translation is about what i expected...
I think they were talking about one of the girls that went out that night who was immature. they never mention her name so its like their inside joke, but they keep mentioning it. i was wondering because the immature girl kind of flirted with me a few times that night, and i was hoping the girls commenting (the one i like) was saying something along the lines of : "why are you smiling like crazy?" "its cuz i just told that one girl off" or something haha.. |

Hahahahah Chida conversation. It was really funny. I'm laughing oneself in my mind. |
...those kind of sentences (with mistakes included) are everywhere. Reading them some questions arise to one's mind: "Are we from the same specie? Am I a dreg too?" We should be careful, dregs are reproducing really fast in the outer world, and in our internal world.

I can kinda make out what your friends were saying... They were calling out(and I'm putting this nicely)out a female for being snobbish and a witch(again, putting it nicely)... and busting a gut, LM_O @ this female
A female term of endearment(like mujercita or chula) can be used as deragatory when used in an angry context.... Por ejemplo..... No me gusta aquella chula.... Which means I don't like that diva(or that 5 letter word that describes a female dog..) "Vive en júpiter" = Her mindset isn't where everyone elses. She thinks she's above everybody in the room.... Her mind "lives on Jupiter" "nee, vive en cachorrolandia".... Naw, she lives in wonderland.... Cachorrolandia is a fictional place...... |
Suavemente... they were not calling her a diva or a witch or a snobbish (but you are right about the five letter word that describes a female dog). "Vive en Júpiter" has nothing to do with "she thinks she's above everybody in the room" and "cachorrolandia" is not exactly that.
If you read Rusty's and Angélica's comments you will understand it better. |
