When ser and estar are used with a past...
When ser and estar are used with a past participle, you use ESTAR when you want to emphasize the result of an action and SER when you want to emphasize the action itself.

I would be careful using ESTAR BUENO/A when speaking of people. In my experience, when you say.
"Miguel está bueno." You are saying Miguel is physically attractive. In other words: "He's hot." ...
