can be both
"es muy triste" (the situation is sad, life is so) "esta muy triste" ((the boss) is down, he is sad, he is desolate ) I thought he was referring to the first one.

It's better to say "Sosia tiene razón" or "Eso es correcto" or "lo que ha dicho Sosia es corrrecto" Saying "Sosia es correcto" you says I'm a formal person. (And I'm not very sure)
