@Poli: Both are correct. (Personally, I prefer "
al rechazo").
@Liquinn: In any language, some verbs need to be constructed with a preposition. For "tener miedo", one can use "de" and "a". If you introduce the cause, then it's "de" and if you're thinking of an indirect object, then it's "a".
Both prepositions have to be contracted when followed by article "el" (de el = del, a el = al).
As for the article, it's needed to introduce a noun.
- Tengo miedo de
abrir la puerta. -> action
- Tengo miedo de morir joven. -> action
- (Le) tengo miedo a
las arañas. -> noun
- Tengo miedo de
la muerte. -> noun
- (Le) tengo miedo a
la muerte. -> noun
- Tenemos miedo de
un accidente. Por eso compramos un seguro. -> noun
- ¿Tienes miedo de
una pobre
arañita? -> noun
In the case of the verb gustar, "el rechazo" is
the subject of the sentence ("I" is the indirect object.)
