New here!

Hi! My name is Sarah. I found this forum on Google and decided to join because I would love to become fluent in Spanish someday. I'm currently in Spanish 3 honors, so I am learning in school, but I want to practice communicating in the language and I don't have much opportunity to do that outside of a 40-minute class each day. I would totally try to translate this introduction into Spanish, but I don't think I'd get very far. xD I'm not confident in my abilities at all. I do hope to learn a lot from this forum, though!

(If you want to reply in both Spanish and English [if you can], that would be great!)

Hey Sarah, nice to meet you. I speak native Spanish. If there's anything I can do, you can talk to me!
A challenge for you: try to translate your introduction and we will help you to correct it. Surely there are a lot of things you know!

Nuevo aquí!

Hola!

Hola Sarah. Me llamo Villa. Bienvenida al foro.

to be fluent (in a language) = dominar el idioma, hablar con fluidez (o con soltura)

fluido, adj. Adjectives must agree in gender with the person (although this particular word shouldn't be used in this case).
confiado, adj.

¡sin embargo!

Your try was very good. Keep on writing.

Apart from the corrections Rusty has offered to the previous proposal to translate your paragraph, there are a few other errors in it, so here are some suggestions for you to check and see for yourself what you can fix in your own text:

Check the proposed expression) en español. Estoy en espaõl (Check spelling) tres (Since it's the name of the subject, the number is preferred) de honores (If this refers to the difference between taking a regular course and an intensive one, using the word "honores" is unclear, so I suggest you to use "intensivo"; otherwise, a longer explanation should be given so your reader can understand better), así estoy aprendiendo en la escuela, pero quiero practicar comunicación en el languae (Check spelling) y no tengo muchos oportunidades (Check gender agreement) con un clase (check gender agreement) de 40 minutos.

Well, I tried! I would appreciate if you could point out my mistakes.

¡Gracias, Rusty!

In addition to the changes suggested, there is one additional stylistic issue that you should be aware of. The present progressive (estoy aprendiendo), although used, is less common in Spanish than it is in English, In many cases Spanish speakers replace the somewhat cumbersome present progressive with the simple present tense.

Welcome.

Poli is right, but I think in this case it works well because learning is an ongoing process that is happening during this period of time.
