La aula

Is ‘la aula’ below incorrect or just awful-sounding? In other words, can it be used and still be grammatically correct?

''La explosión de los dispositivos electrónicos interactivos, obliga también a las grandes empresas editoriales a adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos. Por ejemplo, hay un libro interactivo sobre biología que ofrece modelos tres dimensiones. Además, permite al usuario destacar textos, añadir notas y compartirlas con otros estudiantes en la aula.''

"El aula" is the correct thing to say. "Aula" is a word that starts with stressed "a", so it must be preceeded by the article "el".
