Spanish TV Shows?

Hello everyone

I was just wondering if you have a favorite TV show where they speak Spanish? I am attempting to learn Spanish properly, but don't currently live in a country where they speak the language, so I rarely get to hear it/practice it.

I know watching a lot of British/American TV shows helped me learn English, so I am hoping maybe I am able to do the same with Spanish. Do you know of any TV shows where they speak Spanish? Preferrably where they speak Castellano and not the Spanish from the Latin American countries, but I'll take anything as long as the show is somewhat entertaining

Muchas gracias, amigos!

I enjoyed Los misterios de Laura, and am currently enjoying El ministerio del tiempo.

The former is a detective series, fairly cheesy but a lot lighter than you might expect for a police procedural. The latter also has a lot of detective-like elements, combined with time travel; again, it's quite cheesy, but it intentionally tries to teach something about Spanish history alongside the entertainment.

You can take a look at these series too, and see which one you like better.

I've been watching a TV show called Extra. It's a sitcom made for people learning Spanish. It's available to watch on Youtube. It's pretty good, kind of corny at times, but good for practice. All the speakers are from Spain, so they all have Spanish accents, but they speak much slower than normal.

Thank you so much for your replies! I will check them all out, although I already suspect I will be hooked on El ministero del tiempo very quickly

I've been enjoying Aguila Roja and El Tiempo Entre Costuras in small doses, but I'll definitely check out the others listed here! I also discovered for the anime fans out there that there are many whole episodes of vintage Ranma 1/2 on youtube with Spanish dub.

I recommend "Al rojo vivo". This is a magazine style semi-news show on Telemundo late afternoon. I think Univision has a similar show at the same time schedule The subject matter can be very tacky and sometimes very graphic in a way that you may not see in English language TV, but it's entertaining, and easy to understand. Learners won't be bogged down in a plot and then lose the meaning. because the articles are short. if you miss the meaning of one, you may understand the next one. The visuals help explain what's spoken usually.
