Hola Amigos

Hello everyone, the name is Bob and I am from the US. Back in the mid 90's I was in the Navy in San Diego. I worked with alot of Spanish speaking sailors, and became real good friends with many of them. Just from hanging out with them I was able to pick up a small bit of common phrase and amassed a decent vocabulary (much of which you couldn't use in mixed company)... I never really took to studying Spanish until I met a girl (isn't that how it always happens)... She spoke very little English and I spoke even less Spanish. But we worked together and by the time I left and went home I could hold a conversation, simple one, with most people.

Well, 15 years later and I have always wanted to finish and become fluent. I still have a bit of vocabulary in my head and some phrase but for the most part it is gone. So I ordered the Pimsuelar Method and I am going to work... I was looking for a place where I can get help on the things I do not understand and this looks like a great place.

Now I know the Pimsuelar training isn't going to get me all the way... It is for speaking and not about grammar and syntax... But for me, learning to speak the first time really helped when I went to do the grammar and vocabulary learning. I plan on finishing the three levels and possibly the Plus set (if money isn't an issue) by end of summer. During that time I plan on purchasing Latin music to translate by hand, read magazines and newspaper for the same reason, and watch TV programs. Not to understand just to expand my visual and hearing ability.

Thanks for reading my long post. If you have any suggestions of thing to read, listen to or watch please let me know...

Oh yes , if you're a little rusty and need to get back in touch
with communication in Spanish-English, you're in the right place...
