Your Spanish-speaking friend is right (tiene razón)!
Many Spanish teachers in America teach that "así, así" means "so, so." That's not exactly correct. You can respond, "No tan mal," "Regular," "Ni mal, ni bien," or "Más o menos." When what you're eating isn't all that great, then you can say that it's "así, así," and use an appropriate gester. ![]() ![]() |
