Question Comparative Project

Write 15 Spanish sentences comparing objects and/or people.

I have the illustrations on a word document and I won't include it. Just check the grammar and spelling of each sentence. Gracias.

okay these are the 3 sentences I already have. once you check them, I will work on my project and give more sentences for you to check until I have 15.

María tiene más dinero que José.

Raul tiene menos cuadernos que Alicia.

El cuadro de flores es mejor que el de garabatos.

two more sentences.....

ok.

Would "pair of" be "par de"? I want to write:
"Two pairs of eyes are better than one."
"Dos par de ojos son mejores que uno."

one pair of eyes: un par de ojos
two pairs of eyes: dos par de ojos

It has to use "better than", plural.

How about this sentence...using "worse than"....singular
Una nota D es peor que una nota A.

Wait a sec! Can I even use "grades"? Are they even objects????

Par = a pair
Pares = pairs

Everything else looks ok.

As to "grades" it would depend to what degree you want to use them. :-)

In this case you have to be definite:-)

Las ratas son peores que los ratones

Podrias usar:

Algunas ratas son peores que (algunos or los) ratones.

Puedes pensar en que momento usarias esto?

Hernan.

Number 11 isn't a comparison of inequality. Did you intend it to be?

Look at number 11. It is different than all the other sentences before it. In those, you were comparing items that were not equal; one was always less or more than the other. That is why I called them inequality comparisons. Number 11 has two items that are equal. That is what I meant. Is it OK that this sentence broke the pattern?

Sentence number 12 also breaks the pattern. It isn't a comparative.
(By the way, errors still remain in number 12.)

it's called a comparative project, but the last 4 sentences we use "the most", "the least", "the best", and "the worst". So yeah we still use superlatives. There is a bracket thing circling them, saying "Use 'de' with one of these superlatives to refer to a group or category". Is that supposed to mean that I can only use "de" in one sentence?

last one:
Unas película de terror es la peor clase de película de todas las películas..
Horror movies is the worst kind of movie of all movies.

okay so these are all 15 sentences. double check them if you want :P

The superlative is incorrectly used. The superlative compares two groups (superiority- or inferiority-wise) and there is always an adjective involved.

For example, compare the size or the color of the cookies (use an adjective). Then use the proper form of the superlative:
superior:
el más; los más
la más; las más

inferior:
el menos; los menos
la menos; las menos

The word galletas isn't an adjective. Neither is joyas. To use the superlative, there must be an adjective after the word más or menos. Check your textbook for examples and then rewrite these two sentences. Find an adjective to describe the cookies and the gems.
