Question Misaria municipal

I am translating some old family documents. I have a few entries from the Dominican Republic from 1930. They are rubber stamped with a stamp that says "Misaria Municipal". I have not been able to find any spanish word for "Misaria" that would be used correctly here. I could send a jpeg of the entry to anyone who could help. You could email me at mmanowski@comcast.net. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks, Max

Is it possible that the phrase begins with the word comisaria, and the person using the stamp missed centering it above the page?

The entire stamp is visible. All in upper case, but looking more closely, I think you have it. The C is there, but the O is missing. The same stamp is used twice, so it must have been a defective stamp!!

Thanks. Max
