Hi! Yes Villa, I like Spain very much. I've made some good friends here and they 've always made me feel like i'm at home.
I'd like you to give me your opinion about this: I'm practising my English by watching tv series and movies, and by listening to podcasts, radio stations, etc. But the fact is that everything I hear is American English. Could this be bad for me to prepare my fce exam? or If I am able to understand the American English this won't be a problem to understand British English?
Thank you!!

Hello pituka. This is a very good and interesting question. Ironically even American English has it's varieties. Living in California, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and being in the Army with Americans from almost all 50 states has given me and interesting overview of different dialects or acccents. When I was a kid I use to watch British English movies and so when I went to England I was in tune to how they speak.

In general the difference between British English and Ameriecan English is basically the same idea as the difference from Spanish from Spain and the Spanish from Latin America. So if you speak English well you can adapt rapidly to any kind of English spoken around the world. It's more of the accent differences than anything else.

Check out some differences in vocabulary between British and American vocabulary:

I have taken the liberty of making some small corrections of your English.

There is a correlation between standard American English and British English and standard Latin American Spanish and peninsular Spanish.
There are differences, but, when well spoken, they are really quite similar. Oxford English will sound more high tone, but If American English is your most convenient source, don't be afraid of using it.
