Me suena raro, entendible solo si hay un contexto, como en este caso. Yo diría algo como "hay que asumir lo bueno y lo malo". Seguramente hay alguna forma mejor de decirlo.

Oxfor Superlex gives,
you have to learn to take the bad with the good = hay que aprender a aceptar lo bueno y lo malo, hay que aprender a aceptar las cosas como vienen.

I think of "hay que estar a las duras y a las maduras" or "hay que saber aguantar haya vacas flacas o vacas gordas"... I take you can adapt the expression to the context you want to use it. "Llueve o truene".

Tiene(s) que tomar lo bueno con lo malo, sería literal, como modismo "estar a las duras y a las maduras" ( a lo que venga, no sólo a lo bueno).
