Hola the Serpent. Welcome to the forum. My name is Villa. Mucho gusto. Nice to meet you. There are many word in the Spanish language that come from Arabic. They say there are more than 2,000 Arabic words in Spanish.
The Arabs and Moors/Berbers were in Spain for 740 years. From 711 to 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

1. Let's start with one of my favorite words el "azúcar"!
How could any of us live without this sweet word that mean sugar.
Even the English word comes from Arabic.

2. "Almohada" I sleep with four of these. pillow

3. "¡Ójala!" Mean hopefully it comes from the Arabic wa sha allah which means should God will it. One of my favorite Spanish words.

4. Asesino which is assassin in English. Comes from the Arabic word hashasheen meaning "smokers of hash".

5. Hasta - Hasta la vista. Hasta luego. Perhaps the most important word in Spanish coming from Arabic that shows the deep influence that the Arabic language has had on the Spanish language.

6. aciete - oil - aciete de oliva - olive oil

7. adobe=adobe

9. rehén=hostage

10. Alhambra - It is the site of the site of the surrender of the Muslim kindom of Grenada in 1492.
In California we have the city Alhambra, California

Here are just a few more of the many Arabic words in Spanish: alfalfa, alberca, alfiler cusion, Álgebra, sofá, alfombra, cero, alcohol, algodón, hacienda...

Oh, and how about "camisa"! Can't get any more Spanish than la camisa.

Any Spanish words that start with "al" come from Arabic.

alcoholera, alcoholero, alcoholismo, alcoholizada, alcoholizado, alcoholizar, alcolla, alconcilla, alcor, alcora, alcorana, alcoranista, alcorano, alcorce, alcornocal, alcornoque, alcorque, alcorza, alcorzada, alcorzado, alcorzar, alcotana, alcoyana, alcoyano, alcrebite, alcribite, alcroco, alcubilla, alcucera, alcucero, alcurnia, alcuza, alcuzada, alcuzcucero, alcuzcuz, alcuzcuzu, aldaba, aldabada, aldabazo, aldabear, aldabeo, aldabilla, aldabonazo, aldea, aldeana, aldeanamente, aldeaniega.
