A quien se le compró usted el carro?
Sometimes "se" is used not as a reflexive, but to reiterate the subject of the sentence. Is the following an example of such a use of "se"?
"A quien se le compró usted el carro?" (Who did you buy the car from?) One may respond with: "Le compré el carro a Juan." (I bought the car from Juan.) Can we also emphasize ourselves as the subject by saying the following? "Me le compré el carro a Juan." |

Ok, based on aleCcowaN's answer, this must be example, then, of my wife's (grammatically) incorrect use of spanish! ... haha ... I sort of suspected as much, but wasn't sure. I couldn't figure out why she was using "se". In fact I asked her to repeat it so I could verify I was hearing it correctly .. And I asked her to explain why she said it like that, but she wasn't able to explain it, although she instisted that was the right way to say it.
