I think that the word would can mean when a person or object is soon for takes or goes some place. I mean.
The cat is in shift of takes more cats. Other example. Is your turn to go to the supermarket? Hey you give me more points in my reputation please.

"De turno", is said about something/someone to whom/wich corresponds to offer an activity or a service in a determined moment. It is assumed there are rules that define the schedules.
At the police station: "Quiero hacer una denuncia. ¿Quién es el oficial de turno?" "I want to make an accusation. Who is the duty officer?" Supermarket thing: Mañana me toca ir al supermercado => Mañana es mi turno para ir al supermercado.
