cojín (masculine noun (el)) — cushion, pillow. Look up cojín in the dictionary

Deja los cojines cuadrados en el sofá, uno en cada lado.

I thought cushion meant "cojín" and "pillow", almohada". But in the example "pillow" is used as "cojín". So, I'm a bit confused now.

Aprendí que cojín significa cualquiera de los dos, pillow/cushion, ¿no son palabras intercambiables?

I have understood that (Throw mean tirado.)

I didn't understand as I could say Cuadrado.

No me parecen intercambiables en español. Las almohadas se usan para poner la cabeza. Los cojines tienen muchos más usos.

Sin embargo, es la primera vez que veo "throw pillows". ¿Cuál es la diferencia con "pillows" o "cushions"?

De acuerdo. En Inglaterra se senta en un 'cushion', y se pone la cabeza en un 'pillow'

Ps In German they are more practical.
Kissen = cushion,
Kopfkissen = Headcushion or pillow

Cojín seems to be closely related to the word cushion
