We've always taken off our shoes. I've never been told not to take off my shoes at home. I find it weird to wear shoes inside my house

we never wear our shoes inside our house unless the house is dirty - like when the workmen are working....because they walked on our floors (mostly office, living room and dining room) so we can too until it's clean

Look, I believe that it's just the correct to does, because your mothers I guess that does the cleaning inside of the house, therefore I don't believe that your man likes the idea of that you enjoy to the house with the dirty shoes, then I believe that more to be a culture in the countries it's more cataloger as the personal clean of everybody.

I have some aunts that require shoe removal just inside. I "live" at my house so I don't see the need unless they are muddy. Then I take them off outside. Its not common but not uheard of.

I think that even when the shoes are dirty, it's common to walk in your house. (if for example, you came form the rain, in the door you have a carpet to try to "clean" them before entering..(refregar).. but the shoes are always are dirty!)
It's normal to clean the door all days so it isn't that dirty to wear shoes. But it's more confortable to be without them, yes.
