Hola...

¡Hola! Me llamo Hiikaru. Me gusta escribir, dibujar, leer, y programar videojuegos y páginas web. Tengo tres hermanas menores y dos gatos. Estudiar Español, per mi Español es maso meno (can you say that?). Yo hablo Ingles.

Hi, my name is Hiikaru. I like writing, drawing, reading, and programming video games and web pages. I have three sisters, and two cats. I'm studying Spanish, but my Spanish isn't very good. I speak English.

---

I'm taking year two in Spanish this year, but it's been a while now since I took Spanish one and I've forgotten about everything except some simple vocabulary. I mean, I'm passing the class, but I can't actually speak Spanish at all.

I'm a native-English speaker, and I have a general interest in foreign languages, Japanese in particular.

I study Japanese on my own time, and I tend to mispronounce Spanish words as the way you would pronounce them in Japanese, which is similar, but... not quite right.

I know a fluent Spanish speaker and have a friend the same age who also studies the language, but the former is busy and the latter gets bored of my bad Spanish easily.

So I'm joining the forum to try and practice my Spanish, since it's difficult to use anywhere in real life.

(Also, this is the first site I've been at where you can disable smilies in your post! Hooray!)

Oh, that's a fun sign; I've been trying to find Spanish words for things on the internet.

Gracias, Rusty.

Oh, those silly Spanish people don't capitalize anything, do they? =P

I was thinking of when someone asks how you are and you can say "más o menos" to mean something like "so-so". In other words, "so-so" at Spanish, but I guess it doesn't really translate exactly like that. (And in that case, asking "how are you" is Spanish is really more like asking "Are you good/well", like it is in Japanese, and then you reply "more or less". Is that correct?)

Maybe "mál" is a better word? Estudio español, pero mi español es mál.

Tienes razón porque más o menos significa so-so / more or less

No hay acento en "mal"
