Ciao!

Yeah, ummmh... *drum roll*... I'm new to the forum
The name's Matteo, I'm 19, from Tuscany, in Italy. I'm at my first year at university: I'm studying political science and philosophy and I chose Spanish as a third language. Given that I've never studied it before I thought to seek some help online and I found this community. Spanish is quite similiar to Italian, but it's nonetheless a foreign language and it needs to be approached properly.

What else? I studied classical languages -Latin, Ancient Greek and Italian philology- before going to university, I love contemporary history, books and films (and many other things, but I don't want this to become my shopping list XD).

I can understand virtually everything written in English, but I'm still not that good at writing, sadly. Anyway, I hope you'll manage to understand my rambling speeches

See you^^

¿Significa caramba?

Hoosegow significa juzgado. En ingles (inglés estadounidense) significa
la carcel. No es una palabra muy formal.

Thank you everyone! I didn't know that a word like "ciao" could give all these problems Anyway, feel free to correct me whenever you think it's necessary, both in Spanish and in English.

Really the word chau is a word mostly used in the island region like as Puerto Rico and another places from American central, also I don't see anything bad in the word, in the contrary it's very formal in Brazil, I can be sure, because I work in a company where there are people with a lot foreign people and the majory of the people from Brazil and Puerto Rico too.

Therefore I believe that the use of the word Chau is correct in any senses.

I'm sorry for my mistakes, because I was to vacations and well, just sometimes I forget word in English and well I have to take the lilt again.
