I can't find it now, but awhile ago in the forums aguas was a subject.
It means beware in a lot of countries in Latin America. If I remember
correctly, someone wrote that in Spain, it's used as well often among thieves and without the "s". Seeing that our chat was about the dark side, I thought aguas would be a more fitting word than the conventional

Hace poco un amigo me dice: "Fulano está remando". Y como no entendí, me dice que Fulando está en el bote (cárcel) y por eso está remando, porque bote también significa lancha or boat. Note: This usage probably only works in Mexico.
Wow that's interesting! I wonder if bote has its origins in prison boats. I never thought Mexico had prison boats. I thought England had the patent on those. Fulano is proverbially rowing in the proverbial boat. ¡Que chistoso!

Aquí entendería lo de remando, pero pensaría que se trata de una metéfora por estar en galeras:

Gracias por corregirme. Es interesante que vosotros no estais de acuerdo
completamente en el uso de subjuntivo. Seguro que tiene algo que ver con pequeñas diferencias en el significado. Come decimos en inglés,

Pienso que María José y yo sí estamos de acuerdo en el uso del subjuntivo. Ambas posibilidades son correctas en este caso, pero los significados varían.
María José ha sido más prudente que yo y ha respetado tu versión.
Yo la cambié para evitar la cacofonía con el siguiente si es que te sueltan, y porque me parece que la oración cobra más sentido con subjuntivo, al plantear una acción hipotética en lugar de una acción habitual.
Una norma en la corrección de ejercicios escritos, lo digo como profe, es realizar la mínima intervención posible. Que la corrección sea, como la cirujía, lo menos invasiva posible. Iris ha sido más buena y profesional que yo.
De todos modos, me pensé mucho esa corrección, no creas que la improvisé. Era consciente de la ambigüedad y me alegro de que se haya puesto de manifiesto.

Las greguerías son muy comunes en inglés. Invito tratar de usarlas. Hay gente aquí que te avise si la greguería funciona bien. Me alegro que mi greguería sirve. Casi no sé nada del uso de vosotros. Cuando me enseñaron vosotros no hice caso. Pensaba que iba a tener que usarlo.
