Rusty has a spectacular aura aboutRusty has a spectacular aura about
estoy comiendo (progressive form) = I'm in the process of eating
Voy comiendo describes an ongoing event but not something you're necessarily in the act of doing. One way it could be translated is 'I keep eating'. The conjugated verb is ir, so you should think about a process going forward. Comiendo is a gerundio (present participle).

I am going to eat it, still this example will happen yet.

Examples of "voy comiendo", could be when you are in a car, train etc and you are eating...

Or you could say something like "voy por el tercer día comiendo...." instead of "llevo tres días comiendo..."

"Voy comiendo" sounds weird.

If you use another verb, like "cantar", it would sound better:

"Voy cantando mientras camino por el parque". Two actions taking place at the same time. I'm walking through the park and I'm singing.

Of course you could say "Estoy cantando mientras camino por el parque" but somehow it doesn't sound as nice. The actions are the same, though.

Voy comiendo un helado mientras paseo por el parque. -> I'm eating an ice-cream as I'm walking at the park.
Voy comiendo una manzana en el camino al trabajo. -> I'm eating an apple on my way to work.

True!

We use that "voy" as "estoy" which in turn translates to "I am".
