@Perikles: "Gozar de algo" is also to benefit from something; like in "gozar de buena salud", "gozar de popularidad", "gozar de una posición".
"Favor" here is understood as a preferential treatment or a prerrogative. · El yerno del rey goza del favor de su suegro, por eso no lo enjuician. ![]() · Gómez siempre se ganó el favor de los poderosos, y llegó a convertirse en un político muy influyente.
