Hola, Me nombre es Phil. Tengo 26 anos de edad y soy ingles. No hablo mucho espanyol.
Me gusta tocar la guitarra y futbol.

I'm just beginning my learning at the moment and would appreciate any corrections or advice you could give me.
Hoping to find a friendly, helpful forum that can help me with my learning.

There's an 'Accents' drop-down menu just above where you type. Use it to insert all the special characters needed while typing Spanish.

Thanks for the corrections! I can see the way the corrections are shown will be very useful for me.
I can't see the accents box, maybe because I'm using an iPhone?
I can only change the language settings on my phone to get them.

In the forums, we speak to each other using familiar address (nos tratamos de tú - nos tuteamos), so I would prefer "¿Cómo estás?" Estoy bien.

Trabajo de noche. = I work nights.


The 'Accents' drop-down menu is seen in web browsers used with Windows operating systems. The iPhone doesn't use that OS, so perhaps that explains why you don't see it.

También toco la guitarra. No suelo ver muchos partidos de fútbol, pero los de España en la Eurocopa sí los he visto. ¡Somos los mejores de Europa! Los mejores en fúbol, claro, porque de economía mejor no hablar...

Tengo tocaba la guitarra durante 8 años.

España es un muy buen equipo. No me pareció que Torres sería pichichi.

He tocado la guitarra por 8 años. -or- Llevo ocho años.
Time expressions can be a bit of a snag for most students.

'I have played' is an example of the present perfect tense in English. There are two parts to the verb - the auxiliary verb 'have' and a past participle (I have played, you have seen, we have eaten, etc.). The auxiliary verb 'have' should not be confused with the main verb 'have' (to possess, hold) - 'tener' in Spanish.
In Spanish, the present perfect tense is also composed of two parts - the auxiliary verb 'haber' and a past participle (he tocado, has visto, hemos comido, etcétera).
