Just a quick subjunctive question
Quizás sea mejor si __________ a Tonga en el invierno, el clima allá es muy agradable.
It might be better if they went to Tonga in the winter, the climate there is very nice. Could someone please help me with what follows si here - should I use the subjunctive 'fueran'? because they're not actually going it's just my subjective viewpoint that they should go. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or explanations. |

Awesome, thanks guys
![]() so ... just to see if I have it straight in my head Quizás sea mejor si fueran ... It might be better if they were to go ... (it's a suggestion and they may well not go in fact their going might not be at all on the cards) Quizás sea mejor si van ... It might be / Perhaps it's better if they go ... (we're sure it would be better) and does this one sound like we think there's a good possiblity that they will? Quizás sea mejor que vayan ... It might be better that they go (and does this one sound like they probably are (hmmm or they definitely are?) but we don't really know if it'll be better) Last edited by LearningSpanish; October 26, 2012 at 07:08 PM. |

I think you got it right.
Your last two options sound pretty close in meaning to me, but context would make it clear enough. ![]()
