Which year are you in
Hi,
At college/uni, if a student wants to get an answer from another student like these: -I am a year one/two/three/four. -This is my first/second/third/fourth year. How should he phrase the question? Is it natural English to say?: -Which year are you in?

In the first post, I made these up: -I am a year one/two/three/four. -This is my first/second/third/fourth year. Are they natural English?

The second of your made-up sentences is natural sounding.
The first one needs 'student' added at the end to get closer to natural, but more natural would be "I'm a first-year student.".
