contar is better than confiar in this case.

You probably can use fiar de or depender de or even confiar de instead of contar con.

"Contar con (que)" or "confiar en (que)"

Thankyou but the rest of the sentence is correct, with the subjunctive?

"Tenemos que contar con él que lo haga bonito pero no lo hace."
"Tenemos que confiar en que él lo haga bonito pero no lo hace."

"Contar con que él lo haga bonito". Both expressions refer to the action, not the person.
