Hello

Hello everyone, I am new on this forum and have joined with a view to learn Spanish. Can anyone guide me on how to proceed, should group classes be joined? If yes for classes, then please suggest some classes in New Jersey. Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forums!

Classes can be useful, but all too often the material taught is "conversational Spanish" that has little bearing on what conversations you might really have with a native speaker.

The very best way to supplement what you'd learn in a classroom setting would be to hang out with native speakers, which I suppose you'd be able to find in pockets around your area. Total immersion in the language is the ideal way to learn, but isn't always possible.

There are also many online resources that you can access. These will help with listening skills and will introduce you to much more vocabulary than a typical classroom setting.

Learning with others in a group setting could make the classes more beneficial because you have instant peers and the pressure to keep up with everyone else that goes with it.

Listening and speaking skills will be learned best by befriending native speakers, spending a lot of time with them (constantly trying out what you're learning in classes and online) and a very good dictionary.

Here in the forums you can ask all the questions you want about the how Spanish works.
