p.148
-until nearly everyone in the class was in a deep stupor, occasionally coming to long enough to copy down a name or date, What do the red words mean? Is LONG a verb?

To come to means to wake from a stupor.
After surgery the patient comes to once the anesthesia wears off.

I agree with Poli: the phrasal verb "to come to" is an intransitive verb that means to become conscious or aware after a period of being unconscious or unaware.
"Long enough to <do something>" is an adverb that describes the length of time of each instance of "coming to".
