Timón

This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for October 5, 2008

timón - masculine noun (el) - rudder, helm. Look up timón in the dictionary

La idea de que un objeto pequeño puede dirigir y controlar objetos mayores se refuerza en el timón de un barco: Es muy pequeño y el barco que controla es muy grande.
The idea that a small object can direct and control large objects is underscored by a ship's rudder: It's very small and the ship it controls is very large.
