The subjunctive mood is correctly used in this case, since you're talking about an unknown (uncertainty).
Feeling uncertain about something is one of the reasons to use the subjunctive. Desires, emotions, uncertainty/possibility/subjectivity, and anything contrary to fact trigger the subjunctive. |
