fiancé - man who is engaged to be married
fiancée - woman who is engaged to be married Both are French words, borrowed into English. What else would you call friends that are girls? In the English language you only have two choices - girl friends or friends that are girls. Unfortunately, a girlfriend (what boys like) sounds exactly like girl friend, but in written form they are distinguishable. Do you know the Spanish equivalents? |
