Vía horizontal, vía directa

No estoy seguro entender el sentido de las frases "vía horizontal" y "vía directa".

Por ejemplo, "Cómo era un caballero, hacía todos los esfuerzos para compensarme sexualmente por la vía caballeresca horizontal".

Y, "Cuando quería compensar las poquedades de la vía directa, me proponía la posibilidad de darme un beso florentino".

Just I read your post or poem whatever.
But I didn't found any sence to the sentence. Because I don't understand why are you using the word Via horizontal?.


The phrase should be better translated with other words so it can has other expression and it will sound better.

I have two doubt refer to your sentences.

You used before the words poquedades, and compensarme sexualmente por la vía caballeresca.


Do you will be lovable to explain me the meaning of both words?

No he encontrado en ningún diccionario la frase vía horizontal/directa.

¿Existe algo relativo en inglés?

Well, literally these would be:

vía directa
fast track
quick way
direct path
etc

vía horizontal
horizontal path
horizantal way
etc

The author probably intends it to be a euphemism of some sort. I could only take some wild guesses. I think a native speaker would be more suited to offering an opinion.

By the way, I would translate "vía caballeresca" as "the gentleman's way".

He is trying to say: As I was a gentleman, I make all the efforts to cppensate mysel (in the sexual matters) using the gentlemanly "direct way" (that is, going to a brothel)

I think "Vía horizontal" remains the same in english, the direct way of transmission of information/diseases in the same level.

"Cuando quería compensar las poquedades de la vía directa, me proponía la posibilidad de darme un beso florentino".

I do not have context, I'm assuming here that the "direct way" was not enough (¿perhaps lack of affection?) and she gave a "beso florentino" (No idea what it is)


But I must say, sexual euphemism it's not my main point (mi punto fuerte??)-
Perhaps the "direct way" it's making it all alone.

To me, "por la vía caballeresca horizontal" would simply mean to be laid down in bed (thus horizontally). "Caballeresca" would add some courtesy and care for what the partner wants.

I don't know what a "beso florentino" means, but "vía directa" seems to be just plain sex, in this case compensated by the fact that there are other kind of touches to enrich their physical interaction.

It also not clear in the context "hacia todos los esfuerzos" who? me? she? he???
A "beso florentino" can be like in "diplomacia florentina", a kiss who man doesn't really know if it's love or a performance (if the kiss is real)
