someone could tell me, how do you say "Ligar" in English? :thinking::)

I speak english with a American but, when I use tha verb "ligar" He didn't undertand, I ask many people but anyone knows how say...


Ligar in Mexico means.... when wyou using very tight socks and they leave you brands and hurt you.

Does this exit verb in English? / ¿Este verbo exite en inglés? :thinking:

Ligar es cuando usas calcetines algo apretados y te dejan marcas y duele :/:worried::yuck:

Ligar significa algo diferente Suele tener un significado negen otros paises hispanos. Significa ponerse envuelto, frecuentamente envuelto en escarceos románticos o en crimen.
Tambien ligado signfica mezclado con algo. Ejemplo: El en bar malo, ligan agua con el vodka.
Ligar as you use it can be translated as embossed in English.

yeah, but how can I say:

"Estos calcetines me ligaron mi pie :/ (?)" :thinking:

For example, If a want to say:
You know how to make pie

In Spanish know how to make = saber hacer/saber como hacer :p

which would be the equivalent of "Ligar" in English? or there is no such verb and would have to write:

These socks pressed me so much and I left me marks (?) :thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking:

Curioso uso de ese verbo. En el centro de México no se escucha así. Diríamos "los calcetines me aprietan". :)

Cuidado, "I left me marks" sería algo como "me dejé yo marcas".

Mi propuesta, que seguramente no será mejor que la de quienes hablan inglés como lengua materna:

The socks were so tight, that they left marks on me/on my legs/on my skin.

Instead of 'marks', which works, you could say 'indentations'.

How about "These socks are so tight they cut off my blood circulation"?

No hay duda que de norte a sur de México las palabras y verbos toman otros significados.

Juraria que ligar era un verbo que se utilizaba en todo México. :eek:

Esto me parece más a 'liar' que a 'ligar':hmm:

Las ligas aprietan y son capaces de dejar sus estampas. Imagino que el uso del verbo ligar en este caso tiene algo de ver con logas.
