You're right. "Tronada" is a perfect translation (It will be added to the DRAE next edition, 23rd). But I have to say I've never heard or used it.

Usually "pegao" and "de lao" are slang simplifications of "pegado" and "de lado". The meaning can vary a lot depending on context.

It's frequent that a English gerund becomes a Spanish participle, but in this case I agree with you as "agua hervida" can be cold and still be "agua hervida".

Also, certain uses (like "parking ticket") have their specific words ("multa (de aparcamiento)")

Ese verbo es reflexivo: "Creo que te refieres a otra cosa" pero si te refieres a este "referral" (http://www.google.com/search?q=define:referral) se usan diferentes palabras según el contexto.

"Boletos" sounds american Spanish. Here in Spain it would be "entrada/s".
