Is pluma still used?

Is pluma still used to mean pen? I've been hearing lapicero alot. In school they said it was boligrafo, but I've never heard that in real live.

So is saying jefe vulgar or is it informal? 'Cause there's a lot of difference between the two.

I had that problem once and I had to delete a file in the mozilla directory in program files, I can't remember what file it was but it ended in rdf.
