Overwhelming odds
Hi,
From Context Reverso: Despite the overwhelming odds, the team fought on, determined to give no quarter. A pesar de las probabilidades abrumadoras, el equipo luchó con determinación de no dar cuartel. Is it a correct translation? Las probabilidades abrumadoras look suspicious for me. In fact, I can't tell, unfortunately ![]() In English, odds has a connotation of poor chances, whereas probabilidad must be neutral. |

I don't like it at all. It's no the thing a native speaker would say unless the native speaker learned Spanish in a home located in an English speaking country.
