En la encina hueca

Hola a todos,

In a scene in the movie Carne de horca, Juan Pablo receives a message that his father has been kidnapped.

"Don Juan Pablo de Ozuna, esta es para avisarle que a su padre lo tengo secuestrado. Envíe usted mañana antes del mediodía a un emisario con 70 000 reales que dejará en la encina hueca que hay junto al puente de la carretera a media legua de su casa. Mataremos a su padre si no lo hace."

What does "encina hueca" imply in this context? An oak with a relatively small hole/opening, something like in the link below?

https://encantodelmoncayo.blogspot.c...picapinos.html

¡Sorpresa! Un nido de Pico picapinos.

Or a big opening that a person can fit in, something like in the link below?

The scene in question starts at 15.50.

Thank you.

A holm oak with a noticeable case of heart rot ( hardwood/duramen putrefaction). Sometimes the tree even shows a C section open parcially or completely to the cold and humid North (in the Northern Hemisphere). Sometimes the hollow part starts where the hardwood of a broken branch was constantly exposed to the elements and ends in an inverted V-shape opening at the foot of the tree. This would be the perfect hiding place for a ransom.

In English we call it the hollow of a tree. In this case, it would be in the hollow of an oak.
