To let a thousand days go

"...But now I'm safe in the eye of a tornado
I can't replace the lies that let a thousand days go
No more living trapped inside , in her way I'll surely die ,
In the eye of the tornado...blow me away ! "

I found this on another Megadeth song ( Tornado of souls )

I could translate it as " No puedo cambiar las mentiras que dejan pasar 1000 dias" , but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Does it have a special meaning ??

This guy , Dave Mustaine is from California , I think.

Thanks for your help-

Yo no le encuentro sentido alguno a la mayoría de las letras de las canciones de hoy. Yo no me preocuparía si fuera tú.
