Better "caer como una tromba" (tromba= a whirlwind carrying water, snow or hail). The film starts, a lot happens shaking the viewers and critics or making them unease owing to their values, conventions and expectations, then the film ends.

According to the DRAE: "chocar en tromba" would mean to strike violently.
