3 cuestiones
Hola,
1) Se dice “un nuevo conjunto de problemas “ o “un conjunto de problemas nuevo” o “un conjunto nuevo de problemas?” 2) Como traducen esta frases “Do I put a question mark at the end?” 3) Que significa este frase ““ a la que regresan los fieles al morir?” |

Hola,
1) Yo pensaba que el adjectivo siempre segui el sustantivo, ¿no? ¿Como, por que se dice " un nuevo conjunto de problemas? 2) ¿Poner el signo de exclamación en la cabeza o en fin de oración? 3) "Los fieles" significa "the faithful" aquí, ¿no? |

Quote:
For many adjectives either position (before or after the noun) is possible, but usually the choice of position affects the meaning in some way. For most adjectives the position following the noun is the "normal" position, and the adjective tends have a literal meaning and it tends to identify the particular item out of a set of possible items. "Tengo un carro nuevo" = "I have a new (late-model) car", "mi amigo viejo" = "my elderly friend", "el hombre pobre" = "the poor (penniless) man", "ese hombre grande" = "that big (large) man", "la nieve blanca" = "the white (not dirty, not discolored) snow". When these adjectives are placed before the noun (the "unusual" position) they tend to take on a more figurative meaning OR to name a typical attribute of the noun: "Tengo un nuevo carro" = "I have a new (recently-purchased, but of any physical age) car", "mi viejo amigo" = "my long-time friend", "el pobre hombre" = "the unfortunate/wretched man", "ese gran hombre" = "that great/wonderful man", "la blanca nieve" = "the white snow (generic reference; the default color of snow is white)". The exact difference in meaning between the two positions is not always predictable; one must learn them on a case-by-case basis. Quote:
