As if it would make a difference

An example of how it is used in a sentence is, he put a bandaid over an open gash as if it would make a difference.

It's the as if part of the phrase I wonder about. Would como si followed by a verb in the subjunctive have the same meaning in Spanish?

As if is a kind of snide or critical thing to say. Does that snideness translate to Spanish?

In general, yes. Just a "como si":

Puso una tirita por encima de una herida abierta como si (ello) marcara/marcase la diferencia.

I think both languages express the same here.

A pleasure.
