reja (feminine noun (la)) — grating, grid, gridiron, grille, bars. Look up reja in the dictionary

¿De qué sirve una reja en la ventana cuando no pones seguro a la puerta?

Cuando alguien está en la cárcel, se dice que está "entre rejas". No sé si esta expresión se usa en inglés.
