Escarmentar

This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for October 1, 2009

escarmentar (verb) — to learn one's lesson, teach a lesson to, punish severely. Look up escarmentar in the dictionary

Le han pasado tantas cosas malas, pero aún no ha escarmentado.
He has had so many bad experiences, but he still hasn't learned his lesson.
