Hello I bid you welcome to these forums.

Justamente decir hola.

I don't know if you want to mean that.

@Elaina: I think hvpgmc wanted to say "just to say hello".

@hvpgmc: It's hard to translate word for word. Your greeting should rather say "Sólo para decir hola".
...and welcome to the forums.

It is hard, that's one way to do it. Unfortunately, it seems that hvpgmc just plucked the phrase into a translator. And that's a no, no.

Chileno.

Good morning at least here is of early.
I can see you have an expert eye in the English as you know if he used a translator for the phrase he wrote here in the introduction.

I think he used a dictionary and took word for word. Most of the online translators I've used, tend to correctly translate "para" not "a".

¡bienvenido!

justo does infact translate to the English word 'just' but it doesn't mean just the synonym of only or solely, it means just as in like "That was a just action"
hope that helps

I don't like the phrase Solo para decir hola.

I think he should to write Justamente vine a decir hola.
I thin it sound more correct.

Vivo muy cerca de mi trabajo y a veces, cuando estoy de vacaciones, tengo que pasar por delante de la puerta. Entonces entro un momentito y digo:"Pasaba por aquí y sólo he entrado a decir hola". Y me voy. Es que si me ven pasar y que no digo nada... A veces es un rollo vivir tan cerca del trabajo.

Bueno, y en "La Mujer de Rojo" con Esteban Maravillas cantando, decían, "Sólo llamaba para decirte que te quiero" o algo así, ¿no? (Con todos mis respetos a Mr. Stevie Wonder!)

Estás seguro que esta palabra se puede utilizar en ese contexto?

RAE:

justamente.

1. adv. m. Con justicia.

2. adv. m. Exactamente, precisamente, ni más ni menos. Eso ha sucedido justamente como yo pensaba.

3. adv. m. Con igual medida, ajustadamente. Este vestido viene justamente al cuerpo.

Si te lo aseguro.

You can use that word.

Justamente decirte hola.

It's a slang.

@Wafflestomp: I don't know who would say that or under what circumstances, but your intuition is right that it's not a correct expression.

As you say Waffkestomp is right, as far as context go.

But, you don't know who or under what circumstances it could if said?

Justamente vine a decirte esto, porque me pareció que no lo estabas viendo claro.

Podría haber sido:

Justamente vine a decir hola, porque mucho se ha dicho sobre....bla, bla, bla.
